
Ledgelawn Cemetery, Inc. Rules & Regulations by Order of the Directors
General Applicability: The rules and regulations of the Ledgelawn Cemetery are adopted for the common protection of all lot owners and the preservation of the natural beauty of the cemetery grounds.
The Executive Committee shall have the authority to enforce all the rules and regulations and to exclude from the cemetery and violaters thereof.
Gate Hours: The gate will be open during the period of May through the end of October.
Responsibility of Loss or Damage: The cemetery shall take reasonable precaution to protect owners, the property rights of owners, within the cemetery, from loss or damage but it distinctly disclaims all responsibility for loss or damage caused be the elements. An act of God, fire, flood, wind, tornado, lightning, earthquake, thieves, vandals, malicious mischief-makers, or unavoidable accidents.
Flowers, Plants, Shrubs, Wreaths, and Artificial Decorations: Flowers, wreaths, and other decorations left on lots will be removed by cemetery staff as soon as possible after they fade or become unsightly. Artificial decorations will be allowed only from November, 1st through May, 15th.
Plantings, Bushes & Shrubs: Plantings must be approved by the cemetery committee. The cemetery reserves the right to remove any plantings etc. that become unsightly, planted incorrectly, or are infringing on an adjoining lot or obstruction operations of the cemetery. No trees are allowed to be planted.
Transfer of Lots: No lot or rights, or part of any lot or right in any cemetery of the corporation shall be resold, leased, or otherwise transferred by the proprietor thereof unless said proprietor shall first offered said lot or rights, or part thereof for sale to the corporation as the value shown for said lot on the corporation’s schedule of lot values in force on the date of the offer, and in any case before any resale, lease or other transfer is made to any person or persons other than the corporation as aforesaid said proprietor shall inform the corporation of the identity of such person or persons buying, renting, or receiving such transfer thereof.
Burials: No burial will be allowed without a vault or liner approved by the cemetery management. Burial of cremains in a deteriorating container shall be placed in a cremation liner.
Visitors: Visitors must not park on the grass, pick flowers or injure trees or shrubs and in all cases must observe the properties of the cemetery.
Restrictions: The Executive Committee shall have the authority to classify lots or sections of the cemetery and to put restrictions thereon as to the permissibility, number, kind, size, and location of memorials, plantings, decorations, and structures, or other objects.
Unpaid Bills: No interments made on any lot on which unpaid bills have accrued.
Structures: No structure (of any kind) other than grave markers or lot monuments may be placed on lots and single graves without the approval of the Executive Committee. On each property owner's lot~only a monument or bench with foot stones is allowed. No fences are allowed. Monuments are not to exceed 36” in height and placed on crushed rock. Owners should have responsibility of their lots if the graves have sunk or the stones are tipped.
Placement of tubs, urns, or window boxes is prohibited except next to the monument~which must be removed by October 15th.
The Cremation Garden: The cremation garden is located in the southeast corner of the cemetery. In this section, only a flat, bronze, or granite marker is allowed. Separate rules and regulations for this area are available.
